Airborne Particles and Health: HEI Epidemiologic Evidence
Perspectives 1 is the first of a series produced by the HEI Health Review Committee to integrate findings across several HEI studies or entire research programs. The intent is to describe and interpret results bearing on important and timely issues for a broad audience in terested in environmental health. Perspectives 1 focuses on epidemiologic evidence from the National Morbidity, Mortality and Air Pollution Study (NMMAPS, HEI Research Report 94), the Reanalysis of the Harvard Six cities Study and the American Cancer Society Study of Particulate Air Pollution and Mortality (HEI Special Report 2000), and other studies funded by HEI.
Please note that several studies described in Perspectives 1 have been revised. Please refer to the HEI Special Report, Revised Analyses of Time-Series Studies of Air Pollution and Health (2003), for more information.
