The Health Effects Institute (HEI), the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE),https://mu-plovdiv.bg/en/ the European Respiratory Society (ERS), the Medical University of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, and environmental health institutions in Serbia will jointly host a virtual workshop on June 8-9, 2021 (1-4 PM CET) to review the status of current evidence on the health effects of air pollution in the Southeast European region and its interlinkage to current policy debate and actions.

Study assesses air, health improvements from CA Goods Movement Plan

A new HEI Research Report by Ying-Ying Meng at the University of California, Los Angeles, and colleagues examines the impact of the 2006 California Goods Movement Plan on air quality and healthcare utilization among adults with chronic health conditions who were enrolled in California’s health care program for low-income individuals (Medi-Cal).

Call for nominations to HEI Research Committee

This important HEI Committee is composed of leading independent scientists who typically serve two 4-year terms. The Committee is responsible for defining, implementing, and overseeing HEI’s research program, which provides high-quality, impartial, and relevant science on the health effects of air pollution.
