Now accepting applications for new research on traffic-related air pollution and health
Health Effects Institute is excited to announce a new funding opportunity: RFA 23-1, Assessing Health Effects of Traffic-Related Air Pollution in a Changing Urban Transportation Landscape.
HEI is seeking to fund studies to assess health effects of long-term exposure to traffic-related air pollution (TRAP). Studies should propose novel or improved methods and approaches to evaluate exposure to traffic-related air pollutants as technologies and fuels change, the vehicle fleet turns over, mobility transforms, and electrification makes greater inroads. The development of this RFA was informed by HEI’s Special Report 23, Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Selected Health Effects of Long-Term Exposure to Traffic-Related Air Pollution.
HEI expects to fund a small number of studies (2 to 3 years in duration).
On February 2, we held a webinar to guide potential applicants through the application process. The applicant webinar Q&A summary from this presentation can be downloaded here. Participation in the webinar is not a requirement to apply to the RFA.
Please note, the deadline for Preliminary Applications is March 15, 2023.
