Fellowship Donations

Thank you for your interest in HEI’s Summer Fellowship Program

About the program

The program aims to provide support to undergraduate students from backgrounds that are underrepresented in the environmental health sciences to explore research and career opportunities in this area. The program is run in collaboration with the International Society of Exposure Sciences and the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology.

Why is HEI asking for donations?

HEI is committed to supporting 5 summer fellows each year. Funds are made available through our commitment to increasing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the environmental health sciences. The Summer Fellowship Program is supported and funded independently of HEI’s core research.

We are seeking additional funding from organizations and individuals to expand the program and support as many fellows as possible. With your help, we can reach our goal of supporting a total of 10 or more fellows in 2024.

Where does my money go?

All donations will go directly to support the fellows. Each fellow is paired with a volunteer mentor at an academic or nonprofit research organization in the United States. Fellows receive $6,500 each to support travel, housing, and other costs during their 10-week summer fellowship. The mentors participate pro bono, generously donating their time and resources, and HEI does not hold back any administrative costs.

We’d like to hear from you!

We invite individuals and organizations that would like to support one or more fellows, or who are interested in a named fellowship, to contact HEI.
