Energy Research Program: Fact Sheets and Major Milestones for Year 1

The goals for Year 1 of HEI’s national Energy Research Program are to (1) conduct impartial critical reviews of the exposure and health literature related to the onshore development of shale and other unconventional oil and natural gas resources across the United States and (2) recommend population-level exposure research focused on exposures of the greatest potential significance for health.

Deliverables for Year 1 include peer-reviewed publications and HEI reports that summarize the critical reviews of the exposure and health literature and the proceedings of two Exposure and Risk Screening Workshops, which will culminate in recommendations for population-level exposure research that would commence in Year 2.
